Expanded Learning Collaborative: Making the Most of K-12 Out-of-Schooltime Learning

15th Annual Lights On Afterschool is on October 23!

The Afterschool Alliance‘s annual Lights On Afterschool event is a nationwide celebration of afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement, and generates media coverage across the country each year. The event spreads a powerful message: that millions more kids need quality afterschool programs. San Francisco has celebrated the event for many years, and we are looking forward to another successful turnout this year!

Afterschool Providers: the Afterschool Alliance website has everything you need to get your event up and going, including idea guides, an event planning kit, and more!

Youth, Parents, and Community Members: this event – like afterschool programming in general – will be far more successful with your support! Contact your child’s afterschool program or an afterschool program in your community, to find out how you can help. Need help finding a program to work with? Visit the List of DCYF Grantees, or SFkids.org.

DCYF Grantees: don’t forget, you’re required to have some type of Lights on Afterschool event at your program site! Be sure to register your event at this link by September 26th! If you have questions about participating in Lights On Afterschool, contact your Program Officer.
